Description
Finnish capture 1916 hex receiver Mosin. A previously imperial Russian rifle that was either captured or was (more likely) already in Finnish arsenals upon their seceding from Russia, this M91 features a full suite of Imperial Russian markings. Izhevsk produced rifle with nice clear Izhevsk stamps on front band, bolt, receiver, trigger guard, and receiver. Clear and strong double headed eagle stamp on receiver and barrel. Worn [SA] stamp is present on the left side of the hex receiver. All serials do not match, not uncommon for the repeatedly rebuilt rifles. Stock is overall in good shape and attractive. A period repair has been done on the wrist of the rifle, and two small gouges on the stock have been filled with wood glue. Original blued finish has either been polished or worn off to leave the metal mostly in the white. Cleaning rod is present. Bore is very strong. A great shooter and a cool example of a largely unmolested Imperial Russian rifle.
