Outstanding deal on a really good gun.

Looking to Replace my Long ago stolen COLT Combat Elite. KIMBER had been on My RADAR for a couple years now. Saw this Light Weight go On SALE @ Palmetto for $699. Before Ordering Thought Let's Look a Little Bit & Found GunPrime that I Was Unfamiliar with @ $599 + $99 Holster for FREE! Seemed 2 Good 2/B True but I took a Shot (No Pun Intended) hoping not some Scam Website. Felt Better when Got Email Updates & Tracking. Arrived in 1 week. Waiting for FFL to Clear. Will Update after get it to Range

First off I think the $ was quite reasonable. In fact, it was around $100 lower in price than competitors. As for the actual piece, I found that the slide will need a bit of tuning (a bit tight) and the mag release is significantly tighter than my other pistols. I believe the mag release button should be effortless when releasing the mag, but it isn’t on this 1911. If I were in battle and had to exchange mags over a long day, I would probably end up with a calloused thumb print !! Also, I’ve had about a 5% jam ratio over the 350-400 rounds I’ve sent. (Not good) !! I suppose you get what you pay for but having said that, I’ll just drop it off at my gunsmith to tackle these 3-4 problems and I’ll redo my review after that.

One of the finest made 1911s made at present. I have all steel Colts but I love this Kimber light weight. It is exactly what I was looking/shopping for and I’m glad I chose the Kimber brand, not disappointed at all.

This gun is every well put together. It proved accurate and reliable with ball ammo. However it got three-point jams with hollow points. Upon inspection, the bottom of the barrel’s feed ramp was hanging ever so slightly over the frame feed ramp; enough to hang up the hollow points, but not enough to cause a problem with ball. So, out came the dremel. I smoothed out the edge and dimpled the barrel ramp, like a Colt barrel. After a mirror polish, it’s flawless now. So, it’s a great gun, but it required some work. Seems silly, since 1911s have been around so long. Not sure why so many need a tweak here and there, not just Kimbers.

Got a good deal on a Kimber!

I almost feel like I stole this Kimber!! Very accurate, super smooth action and a phenomenal trigger. Only drawback is the claim that the holster is a $99 value. It's on Ebay for $25 shipping included.
