"Last Ditch" Type 99 Arisaka 7.7 Japanese with Intact Mum - Fair Condition

"Last-Ditch" Type 99 Arisaka in 7.7 Japanese. These simplified Arisaka rifles were developed as the war went on to make more efficient use of Japan's dwindling resources. Features vary among examples. This one has a hardwood stock has a plain semi pistol grip and a forearm with grasping grooves to both sides. Fixed notch rear sight. Rifle is missing forend bayonet lug. Barrel band is free and missing sling swivel. Item still has full chrysanthemum marking on receiver ring and Tokyo Juki Kogyo arsenal marks to left of receiver. Mismatched firing pin. 

Condition is fair. Bore is frosty and has residue in the rifling. Finish has pitting and light oxidation overall but shows good markings. Wood stock shows scratching and minor losses overall. Forend cap is missing and barrel band is free.
