The TRS Commander is the first Nighthawk Custom model built on a commander sized, double stack frame. With high-capacity demands growing, the TRS Commander provides a high-capacity 1911 that is ideal for concealed carry users.

 

A match grade 4.25” stainless barrel is housed in a commander frame and monolithic slide. The full-length dust cover provides added weight to the front of thepistol, helping reduce muzzle flip when firing.

 

A tritium front sight allows the shooter to quickly acquire the target while the Heinie Ledge Black rear sight features serrations on the back, reducing glare. The TRS Commander comes with unique dimpling on the front and back of the slide, matching the pattern of the grip. These dimples provide a non-abrasive surface that will not hang or snag on clothing when holstering.

 

The TRS Commander comes standard with a black nitride finish. A solid lightweight aluminum trigger features a serrated flat face to provide a positive surface when pulling the trigger.

 

With 17+1 capacity in a commander frame, along with Nighthawk Custom’s legendary accuracy and reliability, the TRS Commander may be the ultimate concealed carry pistol.

Too early to say

Initial impression was fit and finish were outstanding
Trigger great
Break in shooting 124 gr Federal +p hollow points -about 200 rounds-loading 3 or 4 at a time in mag
However - last cartridge in magazine with persistent failure to load. After 70 rounds this became a little less of a problem but still aggravating
Cleaned and oiled gun. Cleaned magazine and found considerable fouling at feed lips especially on the left as well as on follower this side also.
Ran a bunch of 9 mm snap caps afterwards without any problems with loading.
Not sure if inner lug on slide stop is interfering with cartridge - there seemed to be a little copper trail here
Next time out going to try same and different magazines and same and different cartridges and see if problem persists
