Let me start off with the obvious. Like you, I was hesitant to buy a 1911 set at a price point so low it almost seems like a scam.
The price of my firearm was less than a Glock, which considering all the features, and the platform, is one heck of a deal. Many of you like me are septic, warry, concerned, and suspicious of how a 1911 can be such a great price. I hope this review can ease your worries and concerns.
The Tisas 1911 Duty B9 boasts some of the most impressive specs
The barrel is Cold Forged
The frame is Forged
The slide is Forged
The Internal Parts are machined and or cut from solid bar stock,
NOTE: The recoil spring plug is mim (Metal Injected Molding). It is a nonmoving part and therefore it is acceptable to be mim.
10 rounds plus magazine, you get two of them!
the Novak sights are really great, and they are white-dotted sights, you could upgrade them if you have a
preferred company for sights.
It has a 2.5-pound - 3.5-pound trigger pull which is incredible. It has a minuscule amount of creep then a crisp break and a short reset.
It has an ambidextrous safety. I think is the only thing I do not love about the gun. I think the safety could have more of a tactile click when switching between safe and hot, but that was fixed by taking a pair of torque groove pliers and pressing the ambi safety closer together to be as flush as possible with the frame.
Then it was perfect.
I have shot 600 rounds through it, and the tolerances have gone from very tight to, gun tolerances that are perfect for a duty gun, a fraction of a millimeter of rocking, and not a single reliability issue to note.
Keep it properly oiled and expect 300-500 rounds through it between needing to apply a dab of oil here and there.
I say get the gun.
DO not buy a gun for 1-2k! Buy this. If you like it and want something better, send this to Nighthawk, get it customized and it will be perfect. But I will run this gun for a few years before I do anything to it. that is how good it is.
You can shoot things up to 60 yards 5-inch spread with the base sights, so it will be enough for most if not all situations you find yourself in

Shipping was really really fast. I expected 2-3 weeks, it was a week total.
This can be different for people who order something different remember that shipping can be delayed, subject to change, and no one here should get mad if it takes a tiny bit longer. This is a gun store, not Amazon. Have patience and you shall be rewarded.
Only had it about a week though I haven't had the opportunity to take it to the range yet. As expected with Tisas (I now own three) the fit and finish is excellent. As with all my 1911s I do a simple fluff & buff and in this case added a set of CoolHand slim G10 grip panels.
The pistol arrived promptly and as advertised. First trip to range and after 150 rounds, no issues. Beautiful firearm.
I didn’t give the gun a 5/5 because there has not been 500rds ran through it without an issue. In the first 100 I have had zero issues. I was worried about the mags because after watching videos a few people seem to have mag issues. Needless to say this can be solved with better mags and the guns run fine. Overall it was a decent price and the gun is still in the early phase, 4/5.
