Description
Smith and Wesson 2nd Model Hand Ejector in fine condition. Pistol is mechanically very good, with smooth trigger and hammer. Lockup is good, with a little bit of acceptable play side to side and front to back but very much still safely operable. Finish is fair for pistol's age, about 75% on pistol frame and about 40% on barrel. Where bluing remains on frame it is a deep and attractive blue. Finish on barrel is in worse condition, with discoloration throughout and minor pitting. Bore is very good, with a minor amount of throat erosion but otherwise very clean. Chambers are as good as bore, with less carbon buildup than would be expected. Some vestiges of attractive case hardening remain on hammer. Grips are in better condition than the gun, with wear at the bottom of the checkering but otherwise excellent finish. S&W medallions are worn, but have attractive patina. Overall a great shooter and collector's item, the Hand Ejector is one of the finest revolvers ever made, and proudly deserves a spot in any safe.
