Product Features
THE NEW PERFORMANCE CENTER™ M&P®9 M2.0™ COMPETITOR™
Built for competition right out of the box, this metal-framed 9mm pistol is designed to give competitive shooters the edge. The Competitor comes with a 5-inch barrel, has an enhanced sear for lighter, crisper trigger let-off, and includes a flared magazine well for fast and efficient reloads. Boasting a new look, the aggressive lightening cuts on both the top and sides of the slide ultimately reduce the amount of weight in front of the chamber and, in return, help improve the recoil balance point. The slide is cut for optics, includes a fiber optic front sight, and blacked out serrated rear sight. The Competitor comes with an oversized mag release that is reversible for both right and left-handed users and ships with a total of four magazines. Choose from models available in 10+1 or 17+1 round capacities with a Tungsten Gray Cerakote® or black Armornite® slide finish. Smith & Wesson is proud to introduce the Performance Center M&P9 M2.0 Competitor.

This is a great full size 9mm, Smith & Wesson hit this one other park.
I own Glocks,Shadow Systems,and Sig's.
This S&W is easily on par and as good as my other firearms in this caliber shoots, fast and flat.
I did not buy this as a competition handgun. After watching a couple of videos that noted it's potential use for home defense, I went that direction. To me, 4 to 5 pounds is perfect trigger pull weight...not too heavy resulting in a push or pull...not too light resulting in accidental discharge. My trigger is at exactly 4.5...every time reliably. And it's a super-clean wall and break...at least on mine. I also put on a Holosun SCS MP2 so I don't have to buy new red dot/suppressor height sights...they lower 1/3 cowitness. And it comes with night sights. Not as big a sight picture as RMR, Deltapoint Pro, or Holosun 507c x-2, but the SCS has a large circle dot which allows for quick acquisition (at least for me). Streamlight TRL-8G fits well on the rail. With the "beveled" front part of the slide, the light does not get barrel/slide shadow nor does it receive carbon buildup. Very nice stipling and 4 handgrip sizes (I went with Med-large). And lastly, the frame weight coupled with the lightning cut slide reduces recoil significantly to return to target quickly. So far, after one week...200 rounds, no FTF, no stovepipes, 100% perfectly reliable and very accurate. With 4 metal magazines and a very nice case no less.
Potential negaives:
1) It's slightly more difficult to take down and clean than some other popular models. But not that difficult; and to me, it's actually enjoyable.
2) Certain larger weapon lights won't fit the rail without modification of the light/or rail.
At the GunPrime price I got mine, it was $200 below other vendors. And at that price, only $100 more than certain other brand-name BASIC handguns...
