Description

The Tikka T3x UPR (Ultimate Precision Rifle) fills the gap between the popular Tikka T3x CTR and the Tikka T3x TAC A1 Rifle! The Tikka T3x UPR features an all new stock designed specifically with precision shooters in mind. The bedding of the stock adds an extra layer of carbon fiber mixed fiberglass to ensure rigidity without adding excess weight. Additionally the stock is finished with a rough coating to provide a more stable grip on the rifle during inclement weather, as well as an adjustable cheekpiece and butthook.

The super-smooth action features an oversized black tactical bolt knob, CTR style bottom metal, and an integrated 20 MOA Picatinny optics rail. The UPR is available with a stainless steel or matte black finished semi-heavy contour barrel that is 5/8x24 threaded for the use of muzzle devices. If you’re looking for a feature-rich precision rifle but don’t want to break the bank, look no further than the Tikka UPR!

Very smooth action and excellent trigger

The UPR has a very smooth action and rifle is relatively light weight which of course is an advantage for carrying when hunting or going any distance. I installed a muzzle break as the muzzle comes threaded which is extremely effective but is loud with some muzzle blast hitting the shooter. Without exaggeration, there is so little recoil I could shoot it for hours without discomfort. The barrel does heat up significantly faster than a M40A1 clone I have had for 25 years. The hart barrel on the M 40A1 is a true bull barrel and 26 inches in length. The trigger on the Tikka is factory set at approx 3 pounds. I did not see how the trigger could be adjusted without taking the stock off which I ended up doing. The trigger is then easy to adjust down to its stop which is a crisp 2.5 pounds and very good. The stock when reassembled needs 62 inch pounds for the 2 action screws. I have tried some different loads as I reload all my rifle ammo but so far have not been able to find that magic load where the rifle will shoot much below 1 inch groups at 100 yards for 3 shots. So the jury is still out concerning the accuracy potential and only disappointing aspect so far with the rifle. The 10 round magazine loads easily and inserts and detaches without an issue. The rifle comes with one magazine and extra magazines are about $90 but are robust and metal. I have on order a Kahles 624i scope I will be trying this month on the rifle.
